Painted Wooden Spoons

Painted wooden spoons are a fun party favor or a way to add a touch of color to your kitchen. Plus it's a kids friendly activity. I picked these spoons up at my dollar store and a package of four was only a dollar and a half. I used acrylic paints applied with a piece of foam sponge to cover the entire spoon.

Once the first layer of paint dried I added the designs by dabbing paint onto sections of doilies and then pressing the doily onto the spoons. When I was done adding designs I coated the spoons with polyurethane, again with a sponge, after the paint had dried.
